Every dog brand seems to be selling the same dream: a golden hour trail, a backpack, a dog running free through the mountains. It's a beautiful picture. It's also not most people's Tuesday.

Most of us aren't hiking. We're doing a loop around the block before work. The same

streets, most evenings, in whatever weather shows up. And if you own a big dog — a genuinely strong one, the kind that can pull you off balance without trying — that ordinary walk can feel a lot less like a dream and a lot more like something you brace yourself for. I know, because that's my walk too.

My Rhodesian Ridgeback is the reason ZUUL exists. Not because I wanted gear for an adventure — because I wanted a walk that didn't leave me anxious before I'd even left the driveway. The tightened grip when someone else's dog appears. The half-second of "can I actually hold him if he decides to go." That feeling doesn't show up on a hiking trail once a year. It shows up on a Tuesday, every single day, for a lot of us.

So ZUUL isn't built for the trailhead. It's built for the footpath — for the walk you're actually doing, not the one in someone else's brochure.

That meant making different decisions. Aviation-grade aluminium instead of plastic. Webbing tested to hold real, sudden force. Dual-point control that gives you actual steering, not just a strap to hang on to. Every choice was made around one question: does this make the walk feel calmer?

We didn't create ZUUL for the dream of the outdoors. We created it for the reality of walking a big dog — and the quiet, hard-earned confidence that comes from finally trusting you've got it, one ordinary walk at a time.
